🥗 Not every restaurant labeled "vegan" online is actually fully vegan. To help visitors know exactly what to expect, VeganIstanbul.com sorts venues into two distinct categories:
100% Vegan 👉 The venue serves only vegan food, with no animal-derived ingredients anywhere on the menu. This is confirmed by the venue's own menu or official information. We don't split this category into "raw vegan" and "full vegan": if the entire menu qualifies, the venue is simply listed as 100% Vegan.
Vegan-Friendly 👉 The venue also serves non-vegan dishes, but offers clearly marked vegan options.
🌿 These labels aren't pulled from Google listings or taken at face value from a venue's own marketing. Every listing is personally reviewed by a VeganIstanbul.com editor, who checks the menu, website, and official Instagram account, applying local knowledge of how these terms are actually used on the ground.
🇹🇷 In Istanbul and across Türkiye more broadly, "vegan" and "vegan-friendly" are sometimes used loosely, or inaccurately, for marketing purposes. Searches based purely on Google or AI-generated results can therefore be misleading. VeganIstanbul.com filters out this noise through editorial review and firsthand local experience, so visitors can trust what they find. Last reviewed: August 17, 2026
