1. Scope and contact
This policy covers the public Vegan Istanbul venue guide and its ChatGPT integration. Browsing the guide does not require registration or an account. Send privacy questions and data requests to hello@veganistanbul.com.
2. Website information
We use Google Analytics and Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and service use. These services may process page URLs, referrers, visit times, browser and device information and approximate region. Google Analytics may use cookies and similar identifiers. According to Vercel, Web Analytics generates aggregate statistics without cookies and discards its visitor session hash after 24 hours. This does not mean all analytics data is deleted after 24 hours. Hosting and security infrastructure may separately process technical records such as IP addresses, request times and errors.
3. ChatGPT integration
For searches, the integration receives a venue name or search term, district or neighbourhood, dietary category, language and result limit; for details, it receives the venue page slug. Vegan Istanbul tools do not request account details, passwords, email addresses, precise location or the full conversation history. Parameters are used to answer the request; the application does not save them to its database or send them as events to Google Analytics or Vercel Web Analytics. Infrastructure technical logs are separate. Opening a result link invokes the website analytics described above. ChatGPT’s own data processing is governed by OpenAI’s policies. Do not enter personal or sensitive information in search fields.
4. Browser storage
Saved venue identifiers, the profile name you enter and dietary preferences are stored locally in your browser. They do not create a membership account; the application does not save these preferences to its server. You can remove saved venues, edit profile details or clear browser site data. Local information may remain until you remove it or your browser clears it. Some interface preferences last only for the browser session.
5. Purposes and service providers
Information is processed to answer venue queries, operate the website, review usage statistics and identify technical problems. Vercel provides hosting and Web Analytics; Google provides Google Analytics and Google Fonts for icons; Supabase provides the venue database. Loading the icon font sends a technical request from your browser to Google’s servers. In the ChatGPT integration, OpenAI sends tool parameters and receives results. These providers may process information on infrastructure outside your country.
6. Retention
ChatGPT queries are not saved in the application database. Browser preference retention is described above. The Vegan Istanbul Google Analytics property retains event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. Reset on new user activity is enabled, so new activity can restart the retention period associated with a user identifier. These settings do not determine retention for most aggregate standard reports. We use Vercel Pro with Web Analytics Plus and Observability Plus disabled. The guaranteed Web Analytics reporting window is 12 months. Vercel may retain analytics data for longer, so this is not a guaranteed deletion deadline. Runtime log retention under this plan is 1 day; this is not a deletion commitment for every Vercel security or service record. Provider aggregate statistics and technical records are separate from the application not storing queries.
7. Controls and requests
You can delete or block cookies and site data in your browser; clearing site data can also remove local preferences. You can use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Contact us to request information, correction or deletion. Whether a request can be fulfilled depends on whether the relevant record can be linked to you and on the controls the provider supports.
